John Edwards to Speak On Campus Friday

Former Senator and Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards will speak on campus this Friday as the Grand Finale of a two week “Opportunity Rocks” campus tour promoting anti-poverty issues and advocacy.

The event is free and open to the public but the organizers request you obtain a ticket from the Opportunity Rocks website. They will also be collecting nonperishable food items to donate to Second Harvest.

Opportunity Rocks is a new, nonpartisan student group on campus that seeks to engage students in community service and advocate policies that expand opportunity for people living in poverty. Email Alicia (aliciabe at or Libby (ebenton at for more information.

  2. I took the hit counters off briefly. We have a web stats package that kinda sucks (doesn’t show unique visitors, for example) so the free counters provide some interesting stats. I’m pretty sure they’re the source of the pop-ups. Please let me know if you experience a pop-up or pop-under ad on the site, to disprove this theory.

    When I move this site over to the new web host (happening soon, I think), I’ll install a good stats package and ditch the “free” counters for good, whether they’re the culprit or not.
