So 20/20 Communications has its “pony keg” wireless antennas up around downtown Ann Arbor, Saline, and Manchester, but according to the Ann Arbor News , the rest of the program is on hold. It seems some of the funds they had hoped to get their hands on have dried up.
Want to help get the project moving? The project is applying for a USDA loan, and for that they need a survey of potential users.
I would love to see Wireless Washtenaw complete its mission. In fact, I filled out the user survey almost a year ago.
But it is not encouraging to see promises start to evaporate only a few months after they are made. I distinctly remember Wireless Washtenaw stating that they would have all of Washtenaw County done in 2007. Looks like that’s not going to happen. They may have good faith, but it doesn’t look like they are performing, and it’s hard to believe that they couldn’t have anticipated this situation. Thus, the scent of scam.
This is beginning to sound like a scam.

What makes you say it sounds like a scam?

“Scam” may be a little strong, since, as you say, they seem to be acting in good faith. They do seem to have overpromised.
