JUST A REMINDER…. Starting February 1, 2006, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS….

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222 or go to http://www.donotcall.gov/. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

P.S. I got caught… this is a spoof… see: http://www.timesnews.net/article.dna?_StoryID=3595651

  1. THIS IS NOT TRUE! YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD CELL PHONE NUMBERS TO THE REGISTRY!

For more information on this misinformation that is being blindly spread via email, please see:

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp

By the way, Snopes does a good job of debunking many of the hoaxes that get spread through email. If you receive a dire warning through email, the best procedure is:

    1. Don’t forward it just throw it away. You’re done.

    2. If you’re congenitally predisposed to forwarding such nonsense (“it can’t hurt; what if it is true?”), first look it up on Snopes (http://snopes.com), and you’ll more than likely see that it is a hoax and that you’ll be deemed by knowledgeable people a gullible simpleton if you forward it.

  2. ‘Fraid you’re mistaken, unless you’ve got newer/better information than Snopes.

  3. Shoot, H.S., I would have been first if I hadn’t had to look up that blankety-blanking Textile formatting yet again.
