Arbor Vitae, once a dance hall and now a sometimes music venue, plays host to Arbourfest 2 tonight. Following last year’s benefit for the New West Side, proceeds will benefit the leukemia and lymphoma society.

Headlining the bill is the Great Lakes Myth Society, provided they’ve recovered from last night’s rousing show at the Blind Pig. Also on the bill are locals Chris Bathgate, Showdown at the Equator, Canada, The Moodie Veto, metro Detroiters The Recital, and New Yorkers Mumu Worthy.

Arbor Vitae is the third floor above Wazoo, at 336 1/2 S. State. Doors open at 7:30 and music starts at 8. Cover is $5. Feast your eyes and ears.

  2. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it. If anyone wants to favor us with a review, a GLMS setlist, or some gossip or news on when some more Bathgate CDs will be at Encore, music fans would appreciate it.

  3. Great Lakes, Great Times, of course. Talk to Bathgate regarding his records. At least 2 of his latest 3 are in-supply at the moment.

  4. Yah, but I want Throatsleep, which they didn’t have.

  5. Yeah, he’ll be releasing the remainder of the hand-made Throatsleeps at Canada’s CD-release show (he opens) on June 10. Jewel-cased versions should be available before then, if I recall(?). Get the other two, though… though Throatsleep is probably the masterwork, you are correct.
