The 47th Ann Arbor Film Festival will be at the Michigan Theater March 24-29, 2009.

Highlights of this year’s Festival include

an Opening Gala on March 24th.
an appearance by Cult animator and Academy Award nominee Don Hertzfeldt on Friday, March 27th.
the Midwest premiere of two retrospectives for the late Bruce Conner — a
pioneering multi-disciplinary artist who influenced the likes of Martin Scorcese and David Lynch, on March 28th.
Mark Hosler, the frontman of sample-based audio provocateurs Negativland, will present a live multimedia show on culture jamming and the infamous copyright adventures of Negativland on March 25th.
Craig Baldwin brings his fearless and memorable “Mock Up On Mu,” a fictional (yet fact-based) story centered on conspiracy theories of L. Ron Hubbard, Aleister Crowley, and NASA, also on the 25th.
Art Cars March 28th.

Tom Long wrote an extensive article published today in the Detroit News on the upcoming festival, including a schedule of daily events.

Long described the Ann Arbor Film Festival as the longest running film festival in the nation dedicated to independent filmmaking.
