As reported by several bloggers (first I saw was ypsi dixit), yesterday’s AA News, and at least one out-of-town friend of the Update, the Air America radio network will be broadcasting in Ann Arbor at 1290 AM (WLBY).

The station’s daily schedule, according to the AA News article:

  • 6-9 a.m., “Morning Sedition” with Mark Riley and Mark Maron;
  • 9-10 a.m., “Unfiltered” with Lizz Winstead and Chuck D;
  • noon-3 p.m., “Al Franken Show;”
  • 3-7 p.m., “Randi Rhodes Show;”
  • 7-8 p.m., “So What Else is News?” with Marty Kaplan;
  • 8-11 p.m., “The Majority Report” with Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder.

Local sports news will ‘fill’ the station’s remaining airtime.

  1. Can 1290 boost their power? We are in Pinckney and can not recieve them.

  2. I heard they can’t boost because there’s a 1270 AM in Detroit that would be adversely affected.

    It’s tough to get it in in parts of Ypsi, but AM radios can get weaker stations reception a little better by turning the whole radio (on a North / South axis in our case w/ 1290 AM).

    You can get Air America to stream easily online of course.

  3. I’ve been getting it on Sirius satellite radio for a while. How did I survive without it?
