Earth Hour happens on Saturday, March 28th, 2009 between 8:30-9:30pm.
More information and a flyer on this international observation are posted here.
Started in Australian in 2007 to increase awareness on saving energy by simply turning off lights for an hour, the concept swept around the world. Find out more and take the lights-out pledge at www.earthhour.org.
If you meant gas/oil mix, and you do burn it off (I assume by running the mower engine until it’s all gone—what a waste, but people do it) don’t breath the fumes!
When you’re done, trade it in for a push mower so you never have to generate that much pollution again. It’s probably the equivalent of tens of thousands of miles of car driving. Alternatively, replace your lawn.
Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers. Check it out at www.commit21.com
Why can’t we celebrate Earth Hour on Earth Day? ;-)

Books work just as good by candlelight. I know. I’ve tried.

I’ll be burning off the leftover motor oil from my lawnmower in my backyard and no, I’m not kidding. Anything to hasten the end of winter…

Did you mean oil? If so, why not recycle it?
