This Friday — hosted at the Workantile Exchange. Upcoming link

This lunchtime (bring a brown bag lunch) seminar will provide you with the skills and knowledge to obtain public information from local, state, and federal governments. We will cover the state and federal Freedom of Information Acts, what types of records are publicly available, and how to request information. The seminar is taught by Noah Hall, an environmental law professor at Wayne State University Law School and Executive Director of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center.

  1. I applaud the efforts of Noah Hall in revealing the inner workings of the seedier side of A2 government. I would support a City Council resolution honoring him and his organization in moving Ann Arbor toward greater transparency and accountability as to its city government, even though certain City Council members have been subjected to severe embarrassment by these revelations.

I would encourage other civic organizations to become familiar with both the state and federal FOIA laws so that they have this tool to shed light on thee inner workings of government and expose the scandalous and improper conduct among regular non-eventful communications.
